I tend to split KPIs into two groups - strategic and tactical.  The strategic are intended for reporting into management (e.g. your CPL and ROAS), but I also like to include tactical indicators like conversion rate.

A well built campaign is like a machine, and I find the tactical KPIs (at the right level of detail) provide a quick feedback loop to let the campaign manager and marketing team know what &quot;levers&quot; need to be moved.  ROAS just doesn&#039;t provide that level of insight; like any communication tool KPIs need to be in tune with the target audience.</description>
