PayPerPost Intents To Acquire Parts Of Performancing

December 28th, 2006 by CarstenCumbrowski | 3 Comments

Michael Arrington at Techcrunch was a bit too early when he reported that PayPerPost will announce the acquisition of Performancing.

That is a bit more than what PayPerPost actually did. Kate Kaye from ClickZ News reported based on statements of PayPerPost CEO Ted Murphy.

PayPerPost has signed a letter of intent to acquire select Performancing assets. …

… The Performancing brand and its services will remain intact, according to Murphy, who said the technology switchover will occur by mid-January. None of Performancing’s staff will move to PayPerPost.

The details are not 100% clear yet, but Roger Park reported at iMediaConnection that PayPerPost will not acquire …

… Performancing for Firefox blog editor technology and the Performancing Partners ad technology …

Performancing LLC was founded by Threadwatch founder Nick Wilson, Text Link Ads President Patrick Gavin, and photo-blogger Chris Garrett.
It offers a free blog analytics service called Performancing Metrics, a free classifieds platform and a Blog Ads Service called Performancing Partners which they just launched 2 months ago.

I’m perplexed a bit as to why a company like Performancing, which is connected with or under the Text Link Ads umbrella, would be selling off some of its assetts to PayPerPost, a direct competitor of ReviewME, which is also connected with TLA.

It will be interesting to read the final outcome. Thanks Carsten, Loren

It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out indeed. Nick is a busy guy to say the least - he actually just started taking on new clients too: http://communicontent.com/clients

PS> Carsten - I think the title should say “intends”.
