Newsvine Relaunches With More Personalized User Experience

April 25th, 2007 by Loren Baker, Editor | No Comments

Newsvine is relaunching today to make their user news reading & sharing experience more customized with their “Evergreen” rollout.

Like other personalized homepages such as Google, MyYahoo and PageFlakes, Newsvine will now let users move homepage modules, delete, or replace them with their favorite RSS feeds.

Michael Arrington of TechCrunch adds that other new features include:

  • Addition of local headlines and weather and a slideshow called “News In Pictures” that shows a continuous stream of AP pictures.
  • Newsvine also just got bigger, stretching from 900 to 1240 pixels.
  • Newsvine has raised just $1.25 million in a single round of financing in July 2005 from Second Avenue Partners. The site currently brings in 600,000 monthly unique visitors generating 3.5 million monthly page views.
