Recently (http://www.pronetadvertising.com/articles/beginners-guide-to-digg.html) launched version 3.0 which allows a broader range of topics to now be submitted. The new digg is a great improvement compared to the last version, but with some small tweaks it would be a lot more useful to me and maybe for others as well. Here is my digg wish list:
1. I love how you can add or remove topics, but it would be great if I could select which topic was my default. I personally like the “view all” option and it would be great if I typed in digg.com into by browser and the “view all” topic would be my default. Granted I could just add the view all URL to my favorites or make it my homepage, but it would be nice if it was easier. I do understand that technology is the default topic because digg started off with technology, perhaps once the other topics are out of testing, they will change this.
2. Digg spy and the concept behind it is great. I love the design and how it works, but it would be cool if I could limit the results to specific topics. For example, it would be nice to see digg spy results just for the World & Business section. It would also be great if I could flag specific items and see a digg spy roll for those stories.
3. Under upcoming stories they give options on how to sort the stories. The default setting is “newest”, but I usually sort the stories by most popular. It would be nice if I could make that my default.
4. Digg is a popular site and thousands of stories are submitted on a daily basis. A good amount of those stories hit the homepage and I can keep up-to-date on them through the RSS feed. The RSS feed has some flexibility, but not as much as I would like because I don’t care for stories on specific topics. Granted that I can remove a topic under technology which allows me to have a customized digg homepage, but the RSS feed does not match my customization. RSS is the easiest way for me to get the latest news and it would be nice if it was customizable.
My viewpoints on digg may be biased because I am a marketer, but these options would allow for more personalization. Digg may already have some of these changes in mind for the future or they may have had their reasons for not including these features. Either way, it will be interesting to see what they do next.

A profanity filter is a good option to have.
I sometimes have trouble finding my own comments when a thread gets too long. I would enjoy seeing my comments color coated similiar to the way friends comments are color coated.
It would also be nice if the technology menu was always open by default. I know it is picky but it now takes 2 clicks for me to get to the design section whereas before it only took one.

I have the same problem with comments and you also make a good point about unnecessary clicks. The new design is easy to use, but in some cases you have to make more clicks.
Right on. The lack of an rss-feed that matches my selected topics really ruins the whole thing and they need to fix this. I can’t read 250 stories a day at work. ;)
