MSN and Superpages Expand Advertising to Local Search

In a smart move that will add even more value to online local yellow page advertising, Superpages.com has reached an agreement with MSN where Superpages ads will be served in MSN Local search results. There seems to be no official release yet on the agreement, but Greg Sterling of the Kelsey Group was contacted and had this to say:

I got word today from Verizon that SuperPages advertisers (horizontal links across the top) will appear in MSN local search results. This is an extension of Verizon’s existing relationship with MSN, which provides the listings for MSN Yellow Pages. Verizon has been working aggressively to expand its network, as have other online Yellow Pages publishers.

Last week Yahoo and YellowPages.com announced a similar deal where Yellowpages.com advertisers will gain added exposure on Yahoo Local and Yahoo Yellow. According to Yellowpages.com, the additional exposure on Yahoo Local will help to solidify Yellowpages.com as the leading Internet Yellow Pages advertising network – expect the same from the Superpages.com MSN deal.
