If the deal is closing then this is possible to be the only hope for MS and Yahoo to try to meet the 2008 expectations and to get closer to Google. But let’s not forget:

google has no reasons to be afraid. they must be pretty much amused by this development.

the only thing i am worried about is flickr. i hope flickr does not end up getting transfered to .net technology…

yes, they should be afraid. microsoft has the brains and the cash to develop products for yahoo users that might be offered in the future for free. i know this is speculation, but what if mircrosoft decides to offer Microsoft Office for free online?? I think that would be huge and attract an incredible amount of users. they could make up the difference in ad revenue. just an idea. i don’t claim to be an expert.
