Microsoft plans to release software allowing only business customers to send and receive messages from Yahoo, AOL and its own instant messaging systems, regardless of which brand the user has.
The companies have spent years discussing how to make their popular instant messaging products work together.
But so far the companies haven’t developed a consumer solution, although it is possible with some third-party products.
They suggest it might still be a while before consumers enjoy compatibility among the three messengers.
But the big three tech firms have agreed to work on the business product, as part of early efforts to make money selling corporate instant messaging services.
The option will be available with Microsoft’s Live Communications Server software, due out at year’s end.

Man, what a well set-up website!
This was a great site. I needed to find something for my Homework and This site helped me out so much! Thanx alot!!!!
Maybe Microsoft will be make a product like the other predecessor, a messenger software which can login to some other server such as YahooMessenger,ICQ, or also GoogleTalk, but they are still have to login to thier own server, but the good think is we can see all our messenger service in one software. I still don’t know about the security reason if we use non native messenger, because maybe some software created to still our password… just my 2cent :)
