LiveDeal to Serve Yelp Local Reviews

LiveDeal, Inc. has signed an agreement relationship with local review site Yelp.com to feature Yelp’s 1.8 million customer reviews on its online classifieds and yellow pages platforms. The move willl bring LiveDeal users an enormous wealth of user-generated content about local area businesses. The move will also help secure LiveDeal’s drive as a local yellowpage player, as it is still pretty associated as an online classifieds, but by driving both classifieds and local business leads, Yelp reviews make a lot of sense.

“Local customer reviews have always been an important part of the experience of shopping locally,” said Rajesh Navar, President, LiveDeal, Inc. “Consumers feel better doing business with companies that have been given a seal of approval by fellow neighbors. This partnership plays right into our strategy of applying best of breed products and the latest technology to create the most efficient and powerful online local marketplace. We are confident that empowering our users with the best-of-breed user generated reviews will make LiveDeal.com an even more satisfying experience.”

“Yelpers tend to be savvy and extremely well-written locals who enjoy sharing their experiences with both fellow locals and visitors to their respective cities,” said Geoff Donaker, chief operating officer of Yelp. “We’re pleased that our relationship with LiveDeal will connect yelpers and their reviews with a vast, new audience.”

Yelp.com has a very bad reputation. I think livedeal is mixing itself with the wrong partner. It may be better for them to start on there own. Yelp.com has accumulated a lot of negative baggage. Google “yelp mess” “yelp sucks” or “search engine roundtable yelp” for more details. Also check out the two news segments cBS.
