To add to this.. Duplicate content issue is becoming increasingly important to tackle. We have recently started to publish articles regularly as part of our ongoing SEO strategy. Articles take time to write and research so we try to make the best possible use for search engine optimisation.

First we publish our article on our own blog http://www.kronikmedia.co.uk/blog. We leave it here for atleast 2 weeks so search engines can index it. It ios on;ly after this that we submit the articles to other article websites or distribution lists. I believe this way Google treats our website as origional and others as duplicate as opposed to vice versa.
