Launch of New Social Networking Site, Friendio

The newest social networking site, Friendio, has been in beta testing for a while, but this week was officially launched and made available for new user sign-ups. With several innovative features that can be customized per user, the new social network plans to offer users a platform for socializing that will give them everything that they need in one place.

In addition to a geo-location feature that maps out the user’s location, the internet social utility will allow members to access and import their friends or connections from other networks. This feature will enable users to stay on the Friendio platform and “bring in” other connections without leaving their site. The other added plus to this feature is the capability for users to post status updates simultaneously to those other sites or networks as well.

The founder of the iPhone geo locator for Friendio, Doug Freitag, on behalf of Friendio stated that the goal of the company is, of course, to constantly improve the site’s features, but to also find more new and creative ways to incorporate those apps that will exceed user’s expectations. With so many different and highly competitive social networks being created so frequently, it’s important to stand out with your product with something different and unique in order to attract and retain users.

Other Friendio’s features include:

  • Interact with gamers and RSVP to social events
  • View local weather forecasts
  • Send friends messages via a live webcam option or a recorded message
  • Create a musician’s profile by uploading songs and creating song albums

Mr. Freitag also stated that on the Friendio site, user privacy will always be a top priority. The company wants users to share and interact in whatever ways they so choose, in an efficient manner, and through as many connected networks as they would like to without jeopardizing their personal information without their permission.
