Google Ventures, an independent entity from Google the search company, is rumored to have invested with top iPhone game developer ngmoco. Citing multiple reliable sources, TechCrunch reports that Google Ventures may have invested more than $100 million with the game developer.
So what does this mean? Despite the fact that Google Ventures’ supposed investment may not be directly Google-related, one can’t discount the premise that this could have a meaningful impact on the Android gaming market. Currently, ngmoco is among the top game developers for iPhone. This investment may be intended to pave the way for ngmoco games coming to the Android Market.
If true, this venture would be a shot in the arm for Android since it currently does not have a games offering even close to the iPhone, despite the fact that most Android phones have the graphics prowess to support CPU-demanding, graphics-intensive games.
Let’s see. It will be interesting to watch what comes out of this deal.
Hope they do it, so our users can benefit from both platform, lower price and better products
Its about time, looking forward to seeing some higher quality games on android!
