Yahoo Search to Offer New Paid Inclusion Model

Yahoo, now comfortably switched to its own version of the Inktomi Indexed search engine results after breaking ties with Google, will be introducing a new and separate version of Paid Inclusion into the new Yahoo Search Index. Currently Inktomi offers a paid inclusion program which feeds the search indexes of FAST partner sites and Ask Jeeves.

According to the Position Tech site:

Yahoo! Search has transitioned to its own search technology and is preparing to launch a new inclusion program. As a bonus for Search Submit customers, Yahoo! Search is providing a free trial of Yahoo! traffic that will end on April 15, 2004. When the new inclusion program launches, Search Submit customers will have the option of joining the new program for ongoing participation in Yahoo! Search results.

So, if you use Position Tech Inktomi Search Submit Yahoo’s giving away a free Yahoo Search Paid Inclusion trial- not bad. Afterwards, those search engine marketers who do paid inclusion, however, will have to dish out more revenue to double up the Yahoo Search Inktomi and regular Inktomi indexes.

Between Yahoo’s category listings, Yahoo Search Paid Inclusion, and Overture/Yahoo advertising, looks like Yahoo has a solid revenue generator in paid search.
