HowStuffWorks Receives Funding, Builds Partnerships

HowStuffWorks, the informational web site rich in useful and original content,well indexed in the major search engines, has received a “significant investment” from financier Carl Icahn. Reuters reports that the investment was in the amount of “tens of millions” of dollars.

In addition to the investment, HowStuffWorks will also be adding more instructional and commercial reviews to its web content from some new parters. From the Reuters article :

“HowStuffWorks has become the exclusive online publisher of both Consumer Guide, a for-profit publisher of product reviews, and the Mobil Travel Guide.

In addition, the company formed an alliance with Publications International Ltd., a publisher of mass market books and guides for home improvement, cooking, gardening and many other subjects to add to the HowStuffWorks content range.”
