However, I was hoping to find more true tracking tools (like TubeMogul or YouTube insights) to keep track of views, discovery paths,  or possibly even clicks from URLs in a video&#039;s description . 

These tools are more for monitoring a topic or user (which is still useful for reputation management and content creation ideas) but not necessarily for tracking purposes. 

As an interesting fun fact, I&#039;ve found that if your video is monitored by someone through video-alerts.com, video-alerts is temporarily listed as  linking back to your video on YouTube (under the Statistics &amp; Data tab).</description>
