When I see AOL and Netscape in the same sentence, it kind of gives me a 90-s feel. I had almost forgotten back in the days when Netscape was the browser of choice (or even further back Mosaic :).

Truth be told Netscape is better than Digg right now. Digg’s frontpage is a hodgepodge of completely irrelevant stories while Netscape provides quality. If they would simply get rid of that view button and link directly to sites I honestly believe Netscape could over take Digg.

eBizMBA, I totally agree with you on the view / preview default instead of taking the user directly to the external site, but shouldn’t that framed viewing also count as a pageview or referral since the reader is viewing the page?
Makes me wonder if that About.com style framed page is in fact some sort of anti spamming measure.

But how can you comment and vote on a site of you haven’t viewed the page yet?
Digg and Netscape should only let you vote on the site if it detects a referrer from that original site.
I think Netscape does a better job than Digg on this.
