That is, I went to www.facebook.com/username and followed the steps. I believe that I then logged out and checked to see if it worked, and it did. Now when I type the URL into my browser it takes me to the login page. I went to settings and username, and sure enough, it's the same username I've been putting after www.facebook.com.
