Aaron Wall posted about a Google Algorithm Update last week and it seems that the changes were in terms of sandbox/trustbox modification and a lot of blogs have been benefitting from the change.
Here at Search Engine Journal I’m noticing a lot more Google referrals and higher rankings in the SERP’s for terms associated with specific blog posts.
We also worked with Neil Patel of Pronet Advertising on enhancing our blog SEO, so perhaps that is kicking in as well.
Aaron’s post on the Google Update / Refresh has about 50 comments, most saying that they have seen positive change in their Google rankings.
Has your site’s Google referrals or rankings increased over the past week too?

Yes, but we switched domains three months ago and are seeing a daily increase because of naturally regaining rank. So, we can’t say for certain whether the update affected us.

No changes here in the UK at all on any of the keywords for all the sites I monitor.
Maybe its not hit the UK yet.

Thanks Barry. Interesting that the update may lead to a drop in Wikipedia rankings.

I think Aaron’s analysis is premature. It appears to me that what we’re seeing is mostly the result of people reacting to the Thanksgiving 2006 Google update. A lot of link repositioning has been happening since December and it’s finally starting to pay off for a lot of people.

I thought ranking panic updates were for webmasterworld:) I see the regular progression of Google recounting & scoring inbound links.

My site was only being submitted to search engines probably right after the most recent Jan 07 google update and I had been hoping to get a page rank of 1 at the next update, but now I am disappointed. I guess I didn’t make the grade for february either. well phoo. I’m still working on the site though. Only bought the domain in Nov 06, so I have no idea how long it will take to get a rank, if ever :o . It’s my first attempt at domain and website creation. Wonder how long till next update then?
:)

We just went from an average of 50 Google referrals from day to 400 this week, starting March 12th. I have no idea what happened, but I’m not complaining!
