Hi Brian,
I work for Belo. We own 18 major market TV stations and a bunch of newspapers. In addition, each station has their own website that has a solid "opt in" database generated from the station's news content. If they want more info, the viewer fills out the form (at n/c) and gets the more in-depth news. What is nice is that we get big click throughs from our e-mail blasts because they trust the news and are more inclined to open stuff we send them. Most big sites have been in existance for 10 years or more.
I have 3,000,000 registered users in total. Any suggestions on how to sell it in Silicon Valley? I'm planning a trip there shortly.
Appreciate the consideration.
