Funny story: I caught word of this a couple days ago, and landed over here trying to find the address to update my profile. Google sure is backwards sometimes. Thanks for the Maps tip @contentwritingadvice and the direct URL, @briancarter.

My Profile was nowhere to be found. I ended up googling it and was surprised that a bit of content was already filled in.

Providing school, work and interest information will also help Google sell the data to advertisers who may want to further target their ads.

I hear Orkut is HUGE in India and Brazil? Never seemed to catch on in North America.

I think it may just be an oversight right now with Google and accessibility. I’ve always found that their paths to their internal platforms has always been a bit wonky. For example, you can’t get to “My Account” from Gmail like you can in the other google properties.

@Content Writing Advice – The links field has been there for some time. I had forgotten about Google profiles until I read this post, and when I finally got back into mine I saw my existing links to my blog, my old website, and by default my reader links was there.

Google’s help section says just to click on My Profile in the upper right corner to edit your profile, yet the only place in Google I have found that link is when I’m on maps.google.com. If there is a way to get direct access to this from other sections in Google I’d love to know where.

BTW, way to comment spam SEJ with a “name” like that…Sigh.

To edit your profile, you can’t just log into your Igoogle account. You have to go to Maps.google.com then go to My Profile.

They have added a Bio field that allows minimal formatting and links, as well as a links section.
