Brian Smith of SingleFeed.com posts on Search Engine Land that Google is rebranding its shopping engine, Froogle, into Google Product Search (soon to be live).
Debbie Jaffe of Google explains “We’re updating Froogle and renaming it Google Product Search. We’re re-branding and simplifying the UI to provide a more consistent experience [across Google] and help users more easily find what they are looking for.”
Brian notes that the change is quite logical since Google users “start their search at Google.com, not Froogle, so sending searchers to a Google-esque page as opposed to a completely separate brand, makes sense.”
