Google Plans to Acquire SimplyHired

May 7th, 2007 by Loren Baker, Editor | No Comments

According to reports from Tech Venture blog Alarm:Clock, Google is currently negotiating a buyout of SimplyHired, the job search engine.

SimplyHired is a major partner of MySpace and supplies the backend for MySpace Careers. As most of you know, MySpace is also a powerful Google AdWords & Search partner, and Google probably sees some value in the SimplyHired “job-o-matic” ad widget which lets bloggers run niche job boards and job classifieds on their blogs.

SimplyHired is backed by the same investors which funded Google as a start up, Fox Interactive (MySpace’s parent company) and also Guy Kawasaki’s Garage Technology Ventures.
