In celebration of its tenth year as a company, Google has just launched the Project 10 to the 100th. The project aims to get the best project idea that would change the world by helping as many people as possible.
For this project, Google is putting out $10 million to fund up to five projects from suggestions and ideas that will be received by Google between now and until October 20.
The project idea should be anything about community, opportunity, energy, environment, health, education, shelter, and perhaps everything else, for as long as it aims to benefit the most number of people possible.
Preliminary announcement of the top 100 ideas selected by a group of Google employees will be held on January 27 2009. After that, these ideas will be up for voting/selecting by the public to narrow down the list into 27. Once the list has been narrowed down to 27, an advisory board composed of five to seven experts on the categories will choose the final five winners.
If you’ve got any golden ideas in mind with the aim of helping the masse, you may fill up the registration form and submit your ideas to Google.
Check out Google’s Project 10 to the 100th, for more details about the project and the call for ideas.

It seems unfair that the person who submits the ideas cannot be a part of it.I mean there are quite a few people who are pretty passionate with amazing ideas but who don’t have the money to do it. Google should allow those with the ideas to get involved instead of just saying “good karma” will come their way by submitting.

The true lungs of the planet is not the amazon forest. It is the oceans. Growing algae fixes more carbon dioxide than trees and they grow up to 3% per day. The grown algae can become feed stuff for animal feeds, fertilizers, fuels, phyco colloids, etc - Imagine how long it will take for a reforestation program. This global effort (carbon credits) can then generate clean moneys to save the irresponsible bankers three times.

Keeping it simple, google way - Set up on your apps CO2/contamination gages updated by zip code measuring critical contaminants. That ought to change a few minds around and help a lot more with global warming.

I completely agree with Nick that it was short sighted of Google not to offer entrepreneurs with great ideas the chance to win these funds. Who wants to hand over an amazing idea to some non-profit that could under-deliver in typical fashion?

my idea is regarding health. 2o minutes per every day like that 5 days in a week doing jogging or doing walking with a 10 minutes yoga will keep your physical and mental health in a good way. it reduces the risk of diabetis and hypertension and causes 10% reduction in over all morbidity rate within 2yr if we follow up reguraly and it is most cost effective treatment available in the whole world.

To elimate overpayment of medical claims: Any person’s life should NOT be worth more than a serviceman’s life. (Whatever the maximum payment for a death benefit is.) No person, civilian or official, should recieve more. Including lifetime injury payments. Medical institutions should charge accordingly.

Dear Mr. Zafra,
I came across your blog post about Google’s “Project 10 to the 100th” while looking around on the Internet for what is being said about this project, and I just want to say a simple thank you for writing about this project in your blog.
For you to write about a project like this already says something about what you want out of life - i.e. (as Google puts it) something “beyond a certain very basic level of material wealth, the only thing that increases individual happiness over time - helping other people.”
I wish you all the best with your ideas for this great project, and just want to say that I’m very happy to be a part of this common effort of searching for ways to help other people with you, and with all the people participating in this project around the world (I’m a part of the Bnei Baruch Kabbalah Education & Research Institute, who are also participating in this project: http://www.kabbalahblog.info/2008/10/project-10-to-the-100-google/ .
Kind regards,
Fred Christie

To make sure your idea stay alive and shine, you can publish it on this website and trying to help the world.

Dear Sir, Your company GOOGLE occupies the pride of place as world’s top information provider on all topics under the sun. Your announcement of US$ 10 million in charity on the occasion of your 10th Anniversary showed your magnanimity of heart for the poor and needy. It is surprising that Google is not able to make the selection even after 3 months. Since Google had issued “pink slips” to 1000s of staff members, people wonder whether you will honour your US $ 10 million charity committment.US $ 10 million is big money to spend on anything when you are faced with recession. If you can spare just 10% of this amount - US $ 1 million or even less, I can launch a Google project to raise for charity note only US $ !10 million but much more and increasing over the years through Boundless Friendships Worldwide. If you would welcome this prioposal, I shall be glad to send further info. Best wishes and warm regards. Yours sincerely, Seshadri Iyer
