Google Green Travel

Google has put together a rather nice looking map-based eco-friendly travel site. Most of the straight searches default to Google Maps/Local. But if you click on the featured cities on the left, you’ll see a very nice presentation of content on a map (including video [although it wasn’t working for me]). See, video will be coming to maps very soon.

In a way, this presentation is very un-Google. It’s more Yahoo-like in some respects. And although the site is something of a novelty, it shows that Google can certainly do more in a vertical search context if it wants to put in some effort.

Here’s more from the Official Google Blog.
