Google Gives NonProfit Organizations More Free Apps

Perhaps in order to promote its committment to upholding its social responsibility, Google is extending premium tools of its online communication and collaboration tool, Google Apps to registered NonProfit organizations in the U.S. Google hopes to make more impact in the noncommercial arena with the free access to its tools and applications. These premium tools and service are usually being offered to business entities and educational institutions for a fee.

Aside from the the usual emailing, online document sharing and calendaring nonprofit organizations can make use of the following added features of the standard edition of theĀ  Google Apps:

  • Email migration tools to help transfer existing inboxes to Google Apps
  • 24/7 assistance, including phone support for critical issues
  • Extensibility APIs to integrate with existing IT systems

With the availability of Google Apps Education Edition for free, nonprofit organizations would definitely benefit and will make their collaboration work easier and faster while at the same time achieving lower operational costs. Nonprofit organizations can now:

  • Decrease its total cost of ownership,
  • Get up and running quickly, even if it doesn’t have a dedicated IT staff,
  • Offer staff and devoted volunteers the very latest innovation from Google, on its domain

Google’s web site mentions a site search engine for non-profits that does not include adds. They don’t tell us how to find that search engine.

Any idea how/where I can find the Google search engine for non-profits. our organizatin (NAM) is a 561(c)(3) and we want to offer our visitors the ability to search our site(s).

    I’m their web master.
