Domain names including the word “google” have been gobbled up left and right lately by online entreprenuers, search engine marketing types, and those looking to maybe turn a buck, or a joke, on the Google IPO and hype. Gary Price of ResourceShelf put together this interesting list of such google-esque domain names.
Can’t get Google shares at the IPO price? How about purchasing a domain names that includes the word Google? This seems to be quite a popular activity these days. Surprising? Hardly.
Nevertheless it’s sure interesting to see the variety of names that individuals and companies have registered. These names were not registered by the Google. During April and the first day of May more than 400 names were registered in the following domains: com,. net, .info, .biz, .us, .org , .biz
Here’s a sample: googleaccounting.com, googlefoods.com, googleforfun.com, googlelerner.com, googlerecipes.com, googledaddy.com, googlesoap.com (that’s right, SOAP) , googlevirus.com, googlewebapi.com, seo4google.com, googlesblog.com, googleclassactionlawsuit.com (hmmmm…), bannedongoogle.com

Here’s the entire list of the 400 registered google domain names.
You seem suprised to see that googleSOAP has been registered yet for any programmer this could be simple access to google ‘in code’. Since SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) is a lightweight protocol for communication via a web service (independent of platform) the site could become the gateway to programs accessing the functions of google.
