		<description>Why would you assume google called it off.  Google is now a run of the mill corporation. Perhaps digg thinks it would be burried in the bs that happens at all companies and it will continue to serve it&#039;s users better as a stand alone site.  If it was google, then this is the second time in recent memory that google is meddling with other companies looking to sell and basically screwing the deal (yahoo is the other).  This time they are taking a page from microsoft when they over valued facebook and made it impossible for them to get additional funding.  Now, who will buy digg if google thinks their tech is no good.  .</description>
