Want a sign that Google is growing even larger and larger by the day? Here’s one; Google and NASA have agreed that NASA will lease Google 42 acres of the former Moffett Field where Google will build a huge research and development center and tech campus on NASA’s Ames Research Center.
According to Brandon Baily at San Jose Mercury News, Google will be building up to “1.2 million square feet of offices, research and development space, company housing, recreation – and possibly even retail shops for Google employees – on 42 acres of the former Moffett Field property, which it will lease initially for $3.66 million a year.”
Housing? Retail shops? Recreation? Is this a new GooglePlex or is it GoogleWorld?
Google says that the company has not built housing and retail centers in the past, but is planning to offer quality low cost housing and convenience to attract talented employees.
“We’ve always had a need for space and we’re planning to be in Silicon Valley for many years to come,” said Google spokesman Andrew Pederson. “This lease is a key part of that strategy.”
I’d like my government representatives to explain why Google gets some sweetheart deal like this, on an ongoing basis, while at the same time they refuse to honor their own ToS, a Senator’s request, and the complaints of many, many citizens about their hosting of terrorist recruitment propaganda displaying US bodies and jihadi carnage. Google is an anti-US company that hypocritically censors for the Chinese but claims free speech allows it to post anti_US hate. Google should be tried for sedition in a US court for being in violation of Executive Orders prohibiting US corporations from supporting defined terrorist organizations.
