Boardwalk Empire may be a “period drama”, but it is one compelling, gripping, and bloody “period drama” that gets everyone hooked. There are lots of reasons to love the show: Steve Buscemi, mobsters, Martin Scorsese, gang wars, Al Capone … but what is so special about the show is that despite the relative number of boring dialogues and misplaced fashion sense, it still has a lot of gratifying and suspenseful moments to offer.
