nice remark kristen, especially when if you had read a couple of entries earlier where someone said that their house was incorrectly shown as the address of a sex offender…so some vigilante waits in the bushes for this innocent person to come out of his or her home and gets beat to death with a baseball bat ?

Maybe u should educate yourself completely on the effects on Violence Against Women and children, and the 3 different kinds of sexual offenders (the age groups they desire, ages from 2-3 months in diapers, to toddlers, (when they are able) can tell someone; adolescents the beginning of puberty, and continuing into adult hood. There is not a cure for sexual offenders in or out of institutions or jail. If u really want to understand and educate yourself try to obtain a profile of a sexual offender and read how they lure their innocent victims by any means, in person,(meaning ie: sitting in his/her car observing routines,skating rinks, parks, schools, competitive sports, pools, beaches, friends homes, maybe your home? computer, movies, connections to other offenders, music, u know the program!!! These monsters are smooth and can be charming, but could a child figure this out?Put your brain together and do not comment on this globalized violent civilization we see everyday.There is a war on women and children, a commander and chief of our little town is accused of killing 2 women, raping 2 other women, and I could go on and on, but our community feels compassion for the families and the women who were killed suffered( by one of their own killing her knowing they worked together) in the very CAF's who are hired to protect our Country of Canada. Think again before, u speak or talk about sensitive issues again. What were you thinking. Why don't you volunteer in a women's shelter for one month and really hear and see what is happening in the real world and how victims/survivors cope.I feel sorry for you, for being a woman and not being a support for your sisters, aunts, mothers, friends. I would or nor could I be a friend who could confide in you, trust you, or see empathy or solace in your eyes. Figure it out for yourself.My PS I am a Nan to 5 beautiful grandchildren, 14, 9, 7, 4, and 9 months. I Care for their safety, not how they will spell. Pls. keep this Watchdog going, we can make a difference, with positive prevention and support.

Yes I would love to find one in Canada as well ! so far all I have gotten was nothing. I even phoned my local authorities to ask and they had said that us canadians have no access to this information !!!! cant believe it. How do they expect the community to help them when we the comunity are not allowed to access vital information regarding the safety our children?. We canadians deserve the right to know if pediphiles/sex offenders live near us or worse NEXT DOOR. Erin thank you, I wish Canadian law was the same as the U.S

Shirley has a valid point – if a person is WRONGFULLY accused of sexual assault, particularly when the victim is a minor, in ruins lives. If we label someone a sex offender in a public forum, we’d better make damn sure the report is drop-dead accurate.

As for shutting the site down, I think you’d have a slightly different opinion if it was your name, or that of a loved one (your husand for instance), that made the list because of misinformation.

And no, I am NOT a sexual offender – just someone who believes in due diligence.

If you feel so strongly about having a Canadian sex offender registry, do your belly-aching in front of the politicians who have the resources to make it happen.

This is good, but how do we lodge a report if we know a potential sexual predator who has been harassing ladies, and it’s been ongoing for years now. The fear is that he may manifest it in a violent way. We should also stop such individuals before he claims a victim.
