Like Google, Facebook would rather take its time before integrating public updates to Bing’s search results. So if you are a Bing user, you won’t be seeing Facebook public updates on Bing’s search results until after two months. This was confirmed by none other than Facebook’s COO Sheryl Sandberg to the Telegraph UK.In case you are worried that Facebook will give away your profile udpates to Bing, well you can stop worrying now since Ms. Sandberg also told the Telegraph that Facebook will only be streaming updates of those members who have set their privacy settings to allow viewing by “everyone on web.”
“This move is about giving people more choices about how they share their information,” Ms. Sandberg said.
For the clincher, Ms. Sandberg said that Microsoft is not paying any premiums to Facebook for letting them use Facebook’s public updates. If you have been paying close attention to our coverage on these news item, you’d remember that Google’s Marissa Mayer refused to disclose any financial clause of her company’s integration deal with Twitter.

Finally, the privacy is finding a definition on the web among social media sites as well as search engines. One reason I’ve always been reluctant to communicate on social sites for fun has been this lack of consideration for the privacy.
It’s a good sign that Bing is showing concern to this private need of the web users. This is a great news!
