I did the same trick with a valid coupon code which is good for $25 in free clicks. The original URL has b=25 and if I change it to b=50, does the landing page $50 instead of $25. The Blog post was primarily done to help with the priority the thing gets at Yahoo! I do not have personal contacts up in the ranks of Yahoo! to call, so I did it the way I did to shorten communication and decision making channels. I got an email back from somebody at Yahoo! an hour before your comment that it was brought up with their product team and that I will get an update. I did not get anything since that, but you are right, they fixed the flaw and implemented exactly what I suggested. So everything worked out as planned. Good.
