Should I stop publish my articles on article directories? I used to publish my articles, but now I wander should I stop doing this, because the risk of duplicate content penalty.

One thing I have noticed with dupe content across multiple domains (due to white lable partner sites) is that Google will sometimes rotates (randomly or algorithmicallyI’m not sure) the display of some of the dupe content results. ie; a search for “blue widgets” will return domain “a” on the first search, and domain “b” on the second search. It will continue to do this for a few hours until it eventually decides which one to display permanently.
