Digg Updates & Filters

Kevin Rose posted the latest ‘small’ updates to Digg today on ‘Digg the blog’. The updates include new instant scrolling of stories, the ability to report posts as inaccurate, and a comment profanity filter for those who want safe commenting.

Digg has been rumored to be expanding their niche news offerings and has also become a great place to lay your link spam, so these additions are good timing. Yahoo! (said in praise, not trying to stir up any rumors).

From Digg the blog:

* Digg Spy : Stories now start scrolling right away (no initial delay). We have also slowed down the refresh rate slightly

* Report stories as ‘inaccurate’: Digg now allows logged in users to bury stories as ‘inaccurate’. Once enough people bury the story, it is removed from the queue

* Profanity filter: Logged in user now have the option to turn on a comment profanity filter

Digg Spy is sooo cool. Today is the first time I’ve ever paid attention to it and it’s almost as entertaining as watching Chris Elliott do the Truffle Shuffle.
