Focusing only on building links or homepage only SEO are two of the six common mistakes which new comers to search engine optimization tend to make, including site publishers and ‘new to the business’ consultants (who seem to be popping up left and right).
Personally, I’ve always been an advocate for balanced SEO and live by the mantra of “too much of anything can’t be good for you” … whether it be too much linking or too many keywords. A good curry is only as good as its balance of spices and flavors, SEO is a similar dish in the exotic world of query driven marketing.
Jennifer Slegg, a well seasoned search marketing consultant (also known as JenSense) has the rundown of the top mistakes newbie SEOs make.
