Google-Motorola Deal: Signaling “Free Phones”?

Google’s recent acquisition of Motorola Mobility seemed like buying patent protection. However, some theorize that the hardware end of the spectrum is just as important. The GPhone May Not be Such a Myth Afterall

Last year tech sites were abuzz with rumors of the mythical Gphone – a mobile phone created by Google. Nothing came of it, and Google eventually squashed the rumors by instead announcing their involvement in the Open Handset Alliance and Android, their open-source mobile phone operating system. But now, comments made by the Google co-founders [...]

Yahoo Games: Google & AOL Partnerships to Increase Microsoft’s Offer?

A short while ago, Chris Winfield of 10e20 called my attention to a story published by Henry Blodget on Silicon Alley Insider. In the article, Blodget covers a possible partnership between Yahoo and AOL / Time Warner, and argues that such a partnership would help extract a higher bid from search rival Microsoft. Since Microsoft’s [...]

Matt Cutts wrote two weeks ago at his blog a post about selling links that pass PageRank. I wanted to comment at his blog, but 500+ comments made me shy away from it and write a full post here at SearchEngineJournal.com instead. Matt presented a number of (allegedly) paid reviews/posts (there is no absolute proof [...]

The Oracle of Mountain View

The recent PageRank™ updates by Google stirred up quite some talk within and outside the search engine marketing industry and opened room for many more or less far-fetched speculations about what this could mean. There is in my opinion no need to panic just yet, but it also does not mean that you should do [...]
