Boosting Your Page Rank on Search Engine Result Pages

If you want to drive more traffic for your website, you have to boost your presence on search engine result pages. With the World Wide Web housing billions of domains and indexed pages from around the world, every business can have a difficult time getting noticed by Internet users. However, you can work on it by applying search engine optimization on your website.

Why SEO is Important?

The traffic that your business website gets is directly related to its page rank on SERPs. The higher your page rank, the more traffic you get. In turn, you have higher chances to generate leads or convert a visitor to a loyal customer. In order to do this, you have to learn and apply SEO to your website.

Learn Competitive Keyword Research

Your business website’s SEO efforts start with keyword research. You have to know which search terms people use on search engines to look for your business, products or services. After that, you have to build your content around it. However, millions of websites are doing the same thing.

Basically, the more popular a keyword is, the more websites are competing to use it and rank for it. Although you would like your website to rank on popular terms, it would be wise to target long-tail keywords that give you a shot at favorable page rank—especially if you have limited budget.

When choosing the keywords that you could use for your website, aim for terms that are very popular and less competitive. These are words that have been used by a lot people on the Internet but might have been overlooked by other websites.

You can do this by creating a list of possible keywords or phrases that you can incorporate on your content. Then use a keyword research tool to see which among your list adheres with the mentioned criteria. This will not just help you narrow down you list, this will also give you an insight on search terms that can possibly help you rank on SERPs.

However, you have to remember that you don’t need to use the same set of keywords on your entire website. Each web page has its own subject matter, which means that it should have its own set of keywords. The homepage must contain the “generic terms,” and it should become more tailored and specific as your visitor goes deeper into your site.

  1. Yes, I do agree with you that SEO is really very important and keyword competition plays an important part in SEO.Writing proper keyword for your SEO page without stuffing them too much is really very important. Thanks for the share.

  2. In a simpler sentence SEO is important because ~80% of clicks occur on organic listings. SEO is a mixture of on page and off page factors though so this means doing more than keyword research. The key activity for anyone wanting their site to rank well is link building.

Link building can be done in several ways, whether this is producing content, guest posting, building citations, participating or hosting industry events etc. Going back to keywords, you should always try to incorporate those phrases into those link building activities in as NATURAL a way as possible. Often this means creating content around your keywords (and not the other way around.)
