When I first saw the headline, I was like who cares. After reading the full run down on Matt Cutts blog, I am slightly impressed. This goes way beyond what Yahoo Builder does.

Will this be the next DMOZ with a million copy cat sites out there? How will Google treat their own content? It will be interesting to see how this develops over a year.

The ability for users to volunteer and contribute sites (or in this case blogs) to the Google powered index at Blog Search Engine is quite special.

The search experience is quite nice and the speed is insane.

I'm hoping to add some top quality blogs and 'editors' to the program using Co-op. It's great to see a social search offering from Google that's so worth using!

Nice idea, Loren.

I've been trying out a Eurekster custom search engine for around a month or so, but am curious about Google's approach. I'm going to have to think about comparing the two.
