Barack Obama Projected Winner of 2008 Election … By Yahoo?

Yahoo’s Political Dashboard service, which I wrote about earlier this morning in a wrap up of places to track the 2008 Election Results, has predicted Barack Obama as the winner of today’s election…. but isn’t it a little too early already?

Well, I’ve read a lot of Twitters about Yahoo predicting Obama to win the White House already, and here’s the deal, Yahoo has not come out with an official Yahoo prediction as of yet, the numbers used on the Yahoo Political Dashboard are supplied by RealClearPolitics, which according to the states reporting and projected Electoral College votes, has projected Barack Obama to win today’s election.

So, to the best of my knowledge, Yahoo has NOT officially projected Obama as the winner of the 2008 Presidiential Election, but according to Real Clear Politics, today is the final day of polling and Obama is far ahead in their polls. The news networks should however be announcing the winners tonight, as this will prove to be a long night in US Politics, and I can’t wait to hear the end results.
