Cheryl says: The ask.com commercial with the baby chimp saying “I’m hungry” really caught my attention. Dispite the fact that I am not a huge fan of monkeys, it was charming enough to make me check out the search engine for the first time...Well-I didn't find the ad charming-I wrote to them to ask them to pull their disgusting and racist ad-why is it that everytime a monkey speaks on t.v. it has a 'black' voice (think Lion King)-because black people are really monkeys, right? I will NEVER use askjeeves since they have such a low opinion of black people.

Let's be honest folks, Ask.com is a second tier engine, and their ads are even worse? Monkey's? Why don't the focus on the facts...their results from Teoma are deplorable, and even their CEO knows it...why else jump ship of a cushy CEO job?

As a communications student , by habit I analyze commercials. The chimp one,and the ape people searching the web not only caught my attention, it made me laugh alot and I recognized what the commercial was for. Usually that combination tactic is not sucessful, until now. Most importantly, it got me to actually use ask.com.

I saw the ad the other night and my teen kids actually said they would 'check out' the search engine. Without "Jeeves" attached it comes off to them as a brand new product.
They are 15 and 13 and really only know Google. It's not that Google is cool or even that good, it's more a case of that is what is presented through the school district.
