Microdoc News Tests AlltheWeb against Google

There’s no question that the Google search engine has received a lot of media recognition over the past couple of years, even working its way into television and movie references. But increasingly, the widely used site is finding that competing search engines are meeting, and in some cases, exceeding, Google in overall search experiences.

There’s no denying that online marketers have a wide variety of options when it comes to advertising their sites, including banners, direct e-mail, paid inclusion in search results, and, of course, paid placement in search results. And because the Pay-for-Performance search model that Overture (then known as GoTo) pioneered generates such great results, other companies, most notably Google, have created similar services.

That’s the conclusion of Dr. Elwyn Jenkins, a pioneering Internet site-builder and researcher who writes for the online magazine Microdoc News. Dr. Jenkins recently published two articles in which he analyzed the user experience of Google and Overture’s AlltheWeb.com search engines, and proclaimed AlltheWeb the winner in both cases.
