Can You Make Money with AdSense for Domains?

Google AdSense for Domains lets domain name owners set up AdSense links on a parked domain which if it receives traffic, will serve relevant ads to the domain name (or popular categories).

I have not tried AdSense for Domains myself, but after digging through some forum threads on the AdSense Outage the other day, I ran into a simple thread posted on Digital Point about AdSense for Domains called Anyone made any money using AdSense for Domains?.

In the thread, a publisher asks about making money using AdSense for Domains and if anyone is having success. A few webmasters and domain name owners have replied :

With respect to AdSense for Domains, I haven’t made more than a few cents here and there. I’ve also only got a few domains set up on it, and they’re relatively new. I don’t really see a lot of people focusing on using this as a “real” source of income, only something to earn a bit until the domains can be developed.

I get about $20 a day from one domain. It started out at only penny’s a day but I employed on page and off page seo plus did a bit of testing with ad placement and colors and with in 3 months $20 a day and growing. Plus my site has gone from no indexed pages to # 8 slot on the first page of google for my key words I am now working on 2 new domains trying to get them up and generating revenue.

I find the second reply interesting, SEOing the domain parked site to actually bring in targeted search users who will more than likely click on the AdSense ads. Sure, $20 a day may not sound like much, but that’s an extra $7,000 a year just from domain parking. Not bad.

Do you use AdSense for Domains? Have any tips or success stories? Feel free to leave them in the comments below.

  1. I think one thing people need to understand is that for AdSense to really generate cash flow you have to have a tremendous amount of traffic to your site. it is like anything a numbers game.

  2. Matt says:

2nd reply is interesting, especially as adsense for domains have “no index – no follow” robots, other parking companies as fabulous, sedo etc have “index – follow”.

  3. Wes says:

That second reply is really thought provoking. I assumed Adsense for Domains would be like the parked GoDaddy page. But does the forum replier who did on-page seo really differ from the standard use of AdSense? I’ll look into this further ’cause I must be missing something here

  4. Where would you recommend parking your domains at?

I use Sedo but I feel its very limited and little or no customization/optimization.

I could optimize it a lot better if I just coded it myself, rather then using one main keyword like sedo allows.

  5. andy li says:

2nd reply is definitely interesting. Doing SEO for a parked domain to generate some traffic and side income seems cool.

Now I wonder how he does on the actual domains that he regularly uses. Must be nice. Good job on that.

  6. Sam I Am says:

I saw this referenced at http://www.OceanfrontDomains.Com and think Adsense for Domains is a great concept and beats conventional parking companies such as Sedo.

  7. Roe says:

I watched that 30 sec video at the opening of http://oceanfrontdomains.com and could not stop laughing like a little girl! That is HILAREOUS!

  8. Richie says:

So, are you aloud to promote the parked domain in question with Google adsense for domains?

If so, there could be a lot of money to be made from your unused domain names?

  9. juno1 says:

I’m going to be trying out google adsense parking as soon as my subsription runs out at godaddy cash parking. I was taking a look at google’s example page and really like how they made it look just like thier search results. I don’t make much on cash parking, but i’m sure the layout of google’s parking is going to incrase my revenues.

  10. Sako says:

    Hi,

Today i also start using adsense for domains, but i am also doubt about that adsense for domains have “no index – no follow” robots, then how its come to search database?

    Thanks

I currently using “adsense for domain” for some of my parking domain, once you change the “CNAME” and “A record” as per google requested, you can not control this domain anymore, so how to set SEO for this domain, I really doubt… If someone are expert may be can tell more.

    Hi there,

I have been using Adsense for Domain for last two weeks. It is better than other parking companies but has not met my expectation.

  17. Ronald says:

Yes, I also want to know how to do SEO things of Adsense for Domain instead of just changing keywords and colors !

  18. gid says:

The guy talking about seo did not even understand the thread. He said he had been using it for 3 months. AfD had not even been around for 3 months. He was talking about just plain ole Adsense that was it.

  19. Making money with Adsense it’s becoming harder and harder. Couple of years ago, Adsense program was really hot

Nowdays, affiliate earnings are much more rewarding. More and more publishers go into CPA networks everyday. Adsense is paying penny per clicks .. Too bad .. I actually enjoyed it while it lasted.

  20. sidy says:

    thank for your encouragement

  21. Justin Zero says:

i have about 40 domain names on the adsense for domains program…some new…some SEO seasoned but dont have a home yet/anymore.

I must say I am pretty impressed with the payout system, and google even goes into detail about how they factor your pay.

all in all i am pretty happy using it for my domain names that dont do anything anyway

No luck so far with sedo so I switched to Google Adsense for Domains. I’ve got no expectations of Google either but we’ll see!

  25. pepperman911 says:

I just completed my first entries for the Adsense For Domains program. I currently have 70 domains running Adsense. They’ve only been up for a few hours, but I am already seeing impressions. No clicks yet. Google allows you to attach four keywords they use to serve ads. They also allow you to control the look of your parked domain pages. The key is to use domains that have heavily searched words and phrases, but I’ll have to wait and see how it works. I’m already seeing a couple domains moving up on the search index and I suspect this will improve since I believe google is indexing these pages based on the main 4 keywords and the words directly in the url itself. Based on the fast number of impressions, I have high hopes for this program.

    • Rob says:

Those 4 keywords allowed by AdSense must be what a previous comment about SEO meant.

    • chae says:

is the domain co cc like orangsanger.co.cc may be allowed to atach the four keyword? if can, how to get it?

I have had adsense for domains on one of my domains but the earnings were almost zero. The strange thing is that the same domain did earn me money on sedo..

    Hi
I have recently launched 3 new websites. All are with wordpress + adsense.Iam doing marketing the sites just now.Doing all types-article marketing, rss submission,bookmarkingetc..Traffic is just picking up.Nobody clicked yet.Iam hoping for good.Iam wondering to know the domain parking. Is there any good article or post to proceed?

  30. Henry says:

Well, 2nd post is great. If you have 100 parked domains, you will get about 1000 a day.
    Mannnn, this is great.

    Thanks for postin.g

  31. Apart from changing the colors and adding a whopping FOUR keywords, there’s nothing you can do to the adsense for domains (no placement, no ‘on-site SEO’ is possible). Maybe you can nudge people to go visit with some SEO, but unless you own mesotheliomalawyers.com, I can;t see $20/day being feasible. If it was, I’d get the domain back and put some decent content on there asap.

  32. Thanks a lot …. this will really be very helpful and the matter of the fact is the whole content fall so smoothly at place …. make it very readable …. appreciate the effort.

  33. cyza says:

very interesting…now AFD is really catching my interest. I’m hunting for info to get this on because i have some unused domains….

I hope more information can be shared.

  34. Sammy B says:

I have more than 100 domains parked with Google Adsense for Domains and I am only earning about $5 to $10 a day with it in total. So what am I doing wrong?

  35. domainer says:

You can’t SEO adsense for domains. It’s not possible to do ‘onsite’ and it’s against the TOS to actively build backlinks and generate traffic. Doing ‘offsite’ SEO will surely get your account banned.

    Sell Domain names

  36. web gift says:

so how to improve seo for afd?

  37. I dont think the second post is correct, the guy probably had a domain that was jam packed with adsense adverts, and not properly setup for AFD. As Far as I am aware you cant do any on-page SEO with a domain setup properly on AFD. I think its also against the TOS to promote a page setup for AFD…in any case it wouldnt pay you to do that, it would be far better to create your own page with images and adsense ads displayed….probably what the guy did in the second post.

  38. Britton says:

Actually you can do a little SEO, Since you are allowed to add a few keywords, Add targeted keywords with lower search volume. So you might have a chance to rank for search. Also what if you wrote a few targeted articles and in the resource box put the keywords with a link back to the domain. I believe you can change the layout and link color like regular adsense. I’ve tried Parked and Sedo in the past and never really made much so this might be an avenue to pursue.

  39. Jeremy says:

I have switched all of my domains to adsense , Some domains have done great, others not so great. I think the most important thing to do is advertise. On some of my sites the CPM is around 800 dollars so I know those can’t fail. If your domain is geared towards high paying keywords, I don’t see how it could fail.

I’m calling BS on the 2nd account. #8 on Google for a PARKED PAGE? Yeah right – I’d love to see it!

  42. Williams says:

I am new to adsense for domains, i started working it. The Second Reply on the site is very interesting.

How can we bring traffic with that adsense for domains. Anyone earning $20 like him?

  43. Jun Valasek says:

The second one is a lie… How could you on-off page SEO the page that has no content but ads? And how could you arrange the placement in adsense for domains when there is no way inside google adsense account to do it?.. LOL..

  44. Hassan says:

Well Hi to all , i read all the threads and am impressed to see the eagerness , am not an expert , just thought of sharing some of my views with you .
