I saw this move coming as well as our students. We use writley all the time and I have personally been using a Gdrive for over a year at this point. I soon expect to see Gcast acquired, and a new Gwhiz service that will enable a wi-fi world where word processing and podcasting will replace traditional education such as we are developing with ¨TEFL mobile.¨

Good call. This does indeed seem to be a potential direction for Google. In fact, it goes beautifully with their mission: to organize all the world's information. That task becomes a whole lot easier when, instead of Google having to send spiders across the web to access and index information, the world starts storing all their information on its servers.
